Supporting Primary Age Children with Reading and Writing Skills

23 noviembre, 2020 | The Anglo Academy blog

The Anglo Institute of Education would like to share some great online resources that will help teachers to plan engaging and creative Reading and Writing Skills classes for primary students, even at a distance. All of these resources were shared by the UK Department for Education and can be used to develop initial phonological awareness and usage in younger learners and to inspire older primary school aged students to read for pleasure and write creatively.

Phonics and teaching children to read and write

Audible: free Audio Books in English for children

Authorfy: access to masterclasses on texts from a range of authors, including videos from the authors and activities linked to novels.

Literacy Shed: downloadable resource packs with tasks based on video clips on YouTube

Pobble: a new image is published each day and can be used as a basis for creative writing

The Children´s Poetry Archive: an archive of spoken poetry recordings. Children can listen to poems read out loud

Teacher training and development is what we do! We will continue to share a range of resources with our schools not only for Reading and Writing Skills, but for a whole variety of subjects. But we would like to hear from you! What do you need for your teachers and families at this time? Please contact with your feedback and suggestions.
